bushwhacker Posted February 4, 2008 Share Posted February 4, 2008 The gear box in my 1990 2.5tdi with 208,000 on it tightens up when I have driven a few miles. It can be a little hard to change down. Is it on its way out or could it go on longer. The box is ok to drive in all gears hi/low diff lock and it is not that noisy for it,s age and mileage. Any thoughts anyone. BogMonster Posted February 4, 2008 Share Posted February 4, 2008 I read the title and I thought I was going to have to moderate this post If it is an original box with 200k miles on it I should think you have had a pretty good innings out of it and I would plan for a replacement!
