landrover598
Anyone got any ideas what could cause a clutch to stick on? My vehicle was parked on a down hill sideslope for about about 6 hours, and felt like the clutch plate had stuck to the flywheel Would go into all gers with engine off, and the hydraulics circuit is fine. Starting in gear, driving, then brake and clutch together fixed it. drove ok after that. Any thing i should look for before i pull the boxes out. BTW, clutch has done 12.5 K over two years. Could well be one of the springs in the damper arrangement, which has parted company with the rest of the damper assembly. The spring then become stuck between the clutch plates. The spring then dislodges itself the moment you applied the brake and the clutch together. Of couse such a malfunctioning damper should - at some time - be replaced, but as long as the truck drives ok there is no actual urgency to pull the box out.
