tjolliffe
Hi all, Changed the engine in my 90 (1986) to a disco 200tdi a while back and now i'm getting around to changing the transfer box for better cruising speeds ect. Question is how easy/hard is this to do? Things i'm most unsure about doing are 1) Low/High/Diff Lock gear slector and linkages - are these just a straight swap over or is there more to it? 2) Hand brake - It's a 1986 90 so has rod operated hand brake, i've noticed that the disco T-box i have has a straight cable feed from the hand brake drum, how have you guys got around this/got any sugestions? Any help with pictures and advice ect. would be great just so i'm not going into this totaly blind! Cheers Tom
Les Henson
You can either swap the handbrake assembly over or fit the Disco handbrake and cable. Unclip the linkages, but the Hi-Lo lever is a splined fit, so make a note of the position of the collar and copy it. Les.
tjolliffe
OK cheers Les thanks very much, i'll probably swap the hand brakes over then. Hopefully it'll all go to plan
