MINESAPINT
Nic, Not quite sure I understand what you are asking. I am VAT registered and when I buy a qualifying vehicle such as a Defender Hard Top (VAN) I claim the VAT back. When I sell that vehicle I charge VAT on the sale. If I was not VAT registered I would not be able to claim the VAT back on the vehicle when purchased and would not charge VAT on it when I sell it. Does this clear anything up? lrfarmer
hi if a non vat registered person buys a car and pays vat, when sead person sell the car dose not add vat if a vat registered person buys a car and pays vat, when sead person sell the person must add vat to the final price. if a vat registered person buys a car from a non vat registered person when sead person sells the car thay must add vat to the final price. most cars are not vat able. but land rovers, hard tops, pickups, 110 csw can all attract vat if being sold my some one who is vat registered. i hope this helps Tim
MINESAPINT
I think in fact most or all cars are vatable but this is only an issue if the car qualifies as a commercial vehicle, in which case a vat registered person can claim the vat back ie a van and that the purchaser/seller is VAT registered.
