Finlands closer than you'd think Jules - drive up to Rostock, chill for a day on the luxo ferry and you're there, the scenerys cool, the people are friendly, English is widely spoken, and you know you're gonna have fun without demolishing your car. From the look of it you can join and leave the tour as you like - if you cant be bothered to drive South from Lapland after the tour ends you can put your car on the train and get hammered relax all the way back south ;), seems like a good chill out :)

That was the one question I had,

Train home sounds like a nice chilled trip back though the hills ?

from memory Jules the sleeper/car train takes 24 hours to go from one end of the country to the other so plenty of time to get off your face and sober up enjoy some socialising and enjoy the scenery ;) I know a few kids use it as a safety net after the Lapland Trophy

public transport - it really does work*

*just not in this country

Finland Offroad Tour

Don't go thinking the Finn-Ugaric is going to help. My wife had a Finnish friend. Over a few glasses of wine they tried talking to each other in their respective languages. They soon turned back to the bottle!

Well i would say that your tour guide is certainly fluent in English as is most of the popular areas of Finland, then you have the Swedish soeaking Finn and the crazy Lappish talk they have oop north. but in general you will get on just fine with English and if you are part of a tour then you are always gonna have a Finnish Speaker to hand!

Nice find Jez as this is a tour i wanna do with the TLC this would conventiely take the thinking out of it, although i wann break over the border to Norwy and sweden for the return leg to make a round trip!!

Just for the record some of the scenery up there is amazing!

If a Scot can be understud in the land of thousand lakes......I am sure speaking Queens English wont be a problem

(could not help myself James :hysterical: )

James we fancy this one too - you just need to find me a vet so we can bring the elephant baby, my dog can try to eat your dog, but I dont think my fat dog can ever catch your little dog......

Finger drawing on muddy cars works in all languages
