headdamage
I've stripped a disco 200tdi that was in a defender and found that the four ladder frame bolts that come through from the flywheel housing where missing. Do I have to replace these or can I leave them out so that the ladder fram can be removed with the engine insitu at a later date? In short do they need to be there? western
I'd put them in, less chance of oil leaks & the ladder frame distorting, if they didn't need to be there then I doubt the engine designers would have fitted them. parts book shows 6 bolts 2 off M8 x 125mm flanged hex head part number FB108251 & 4 off M8 x 60mm flanged hex head part number FB108121L

They wouldnt have been fitted in the first place if it was not nessesary.
