ebdesignDEFENDER
I tried to fix my rear door(station wagon hard top) it has broken because the well was hanged on it(as the rear door galss is broken). What can I do to reinforce the door and how to make it to close easyer? Thanks VERY much from EUGEN
SteveG
personally I'd fit a wheel carrier like Mantec etc. Takes weight off door so you'll have no problems from now on. Then you can repair current door or get a good 2nd hand one or new. Cheers Steve
jameslwt
Alternatively, if, like me you don't want to spend out more cash just yet, just reinforce it with cross-bracing etc. I have a bit of box section running diagonally across the lower half of the door, and have welded some plates - triangular - across some of the joints in the frame. This seems to have worked quite well - but I don't have an interior trim panel on mine. But ultimately......swing away carrier or remove wheel and stick elsewhere if you have the space.
