Paul Humphreys
Is there a good one out there? Or is it a case of paying a lot for one? Paul
western
just use 3 x VDO 12v voltmeters, they'll show much more info than a management system.
Paul Humphreys
I did think of that, but I need to set up a split charge for the 3rd batterys as well. The main 2 run ok as I have 24v starting. BTW its a landcruiser 80 series. Paul
western
talk to Si @ X-eng, his split charge relay maybe up to the job.
pugwash
Just going down this route myself with my 80 Where have you put the third battery- i'm thinking in the back under the rear drawer system but i'm open to ideas! My current thinking is to use one of X-engs split charge systems off the left hand battery and feed the 3rd battery which will run the PC and fridge and stuff, but keep a battery monitor in the cab area. Not going to touch the right hand battery if i can help- it doesn't need it as it the factory setup seems to be working just fine- certainly i don't have any problems with either battery draining each other. i was looking at some way of dropping the 3rd battery in to boost the main batteries in case they get run down, but having seen just how much juice is needed to jumpstart the LC from another car i'm not sure there is a lot of point! Cant see the point of spending Hundreds though.
Paul Humphreys
3rd battery is going in the rear in a batery box. But I am going to build a false follr as I need to fit the spare 35"tyre in there aswell. Paul
