mike4444244 Posted May 8, 2008 Share Posted May 8, 2008 Hi Could anyone tell me if there is any difference between civilian and military, and series and 90/110/early defender military door tops? I bought a pair of replacements but on the both sides they overlap the windscreen frame at the top, ie the angle of the front of the frame is too steep if you get what I mean, the door bottoms and bulkhead are perfectly aligned with an even panel gap and the old door tops fit perfectly? Whats going on? Is it a case of mixing civvy/military/series/defender tops up or is more likely due to the fact that a certain Derbyshire based parts supplier that has a name quite like a large field is churning out doortops that are just wrong? Gremlin Posted May 8, 2008 Share Posted May 8, 2008 Errrrm..... physically none as far as i know, except the glass sliding and the material they are made out of. I have 110 door tops on my series and they fit perfectly. I also changed the locks to late military/wolf and they also fit perfectly. Is the windscreen set correctly?. Milemarker Type S Posted May 8, 2008 Share Posted May 8, 2008 All doors from Series 2 to 90/110 are exactly the same shape- i.e a door from a series 2 should slot straight into the same hole as a brand new 90 one. mike4444244 Posted May 8, 2008 Author Share Posted May 8, 2008 Hi Well the original dor tops fit beautifully so confident doors/bulkhead/roof are all aligned properly, I just replaced the bulkhead and took great care to set it up properly, I ordered series doortops so I would be surprised if they sent 101 ones, they fit the door ok its just they overlap by about 10mm at the top of the screen and I'm fairly sure I cant get that much adjusted out of the hinges, not that I'd want to do that anyway as it would alter the fit of the door bottom too...
