Diesel fuel line - what type of pipe?

Recommended Posts

hi

the fuel pipe from the filter looks like washing machine hose, which is doubtless brittle and about to catch fire!!

Can I just buy any fuel hose in Halfords to replace it? Or should it be diesel specific? (or is there a genuine LR part number I should use?)

cheers

Thats not the original 200tdi fuel hose. The original was a hard plastic type and the fittings were prefitted to the end i think.

Fuel hose is funny stuff. If ya run any amount of veggie oil then some hoses dont like it.

Cos were talking about fuel hose i dont really want to recommend anything other than the original part. However if you were to ask what i got fitted on mine then i'd say .. http://www.biotuning.co.uk/ShopFittings.htm ... Its the 8mm hose. It says unleaded petrol on the side strangely enough. The quality of the hose is very important.

In my opinion any type of official rubber fuel hose + hose clamps will fit, just check the inside diameter, 6mm or 8mm. I using so bit of rubber hose on my 200TDI where the original plastic lines have been cut, works fine.

Cheers
