Graham Thomson
For the past week or so, I've had no "dipped" light in the nearside lamp. Main beam is fine, sidelight works fine. Changed the bulb this evening to see if that was the problem - unfortunately it wasnt. Any ideas where I go next?
western
tried the fuses ? left & right dip & main beam have their own 8amp fuse.

western
Oh. :rofl:I guess you didn't check the fuses then, after I sent you the label for the fuse box too so have ya fixed it ????
Godlykepower
If not the fuses, the wires that run from the lights along the wings, may have wear in the insulation which touches the body work.

Graham Thomson
Finally had a look at the fuses.......over the years all seem to have been replaced with slightly higher rated ones! (although I suspect that the various owners just put in what they had to hand!!). Anyway, the 10amp fuse I removed looked absolutely fine, so no joy there. Must be a wiring problem! Hmmph! Godlykepower
Graham, if you stick your hand under each wing & find the loom from each headlight & then trace along that group of wires back towards the bulkhead, you may find that where the wires move against the body, the insulation has worn away. I had this problem & discovered where the weak point was in just a couple of minutes. Just wrap a bit of new insulation around that point, or even better along the entire length. western
Graham, pull the fuses & clean the contacts the fuses sit in, sometime even a slightest bit of dirt/corrosion will afect the current to the lights
