PEASEY Posted July 1, 2008 Share Posted July 1, 2008 Hi chaps,could someone shed some light on my problem please?Im getting oil which i think is engine oil dripping out of the gear box wading plug hole,i havent got the plug fitted in as i wanted to see how much i was looseing.can anyone tell me if its the rear crank shaft oil seal thats leaking or if its something else? could i just slide the gear box back to replace it or is it gear box out time? lrfarmer Posted July 1, 2008 Share Posted July 1, 2008 yes it's time for a new crank oil seal no sorry you can't slide the gear box back gearbox out, but you may find it easyer to take the engine out to do it as the seal as it sits in the bell housing and the gearbox can be an arse to take out if you don't have the right kit Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Les Henson Posted July 1, 2008 Share Posted July 1, 2008 If you look at this thread, which is a Disco clutch change I did, the gearbox is moved backwards far enough to replace the clutch.
