Steve 90
Need to get a second alt on the 4.2 ive just bought for the challenge truck. Im sure ive seen alternators mounted on both sides of the V8 on O/E brackets. I will Fab a bracket if I need to but if theres something available off the shelf then it would be much easier and quicker to go that way. Can anyone confirm if they are available and if possible a part number would be brilliant. Any photo's so i can have an idea of what they are like would also be great. Thanks in advance. Steve. Mark90
Yep they can be mounted either side. O/S without aircon, N/S with aircon as compressor takes the place on the O/S. Which side bracket are you needing? I may have one in the shed.

I definitely need the RH (or left as you look at the engine from the front), Probably need both!
Mark90
Here's a pic of an engine with both mounts fitted I think I may have the left hand bracket (looking from front as in poic above), don't think I have a right hand one. Will check the shed tomorrow evening.
jules
You will need the correct 4.2 alt for the engine as the sodding things seem to vary from LSE to LSE. The older alts fit on the other side and just use carb mounts.
Mark90
I found this in the shed tonight, looks to be the o/s bracket in the pic above. Any good to you?
