Comical Engineer
One of the MOT jobs is a new wheel bearing as the front passenger side is shot. What parts (including any seals) will I need for the job? I'm also going to replace the leaking swivel seal. Car is a 1996 300tdi. Thanks
BogMonster
Depends on the state of other bits (stub axle, hub) when you get in there but you might get away with 2 bearings, new lockwashers, a hub seal and a drive member gasket if you are lucky. If the seal track on the stub axle is stuffed (or the bearing shell is welded to the axle) you may need more!
Richard Mills
Hi there, I got a wheel baring kit from www.rimmerbros.co.uk, it came with all the parts needed to do the baring. All the rest of the assembly was ok. You will also need a big box spanner... http://shop.difflock.com/tools-workshop-la...ls-c-29_30.html Follow this link and the spanner is in the middle right side of the page. I borrowed one from a friend. Don't forget the "Swarfega" it can be a rather messy job. Good luck.
white90
Get a 52mm socket even easier and easier to set the Torque load on the bearings
Comical Engineer
Just ordered the bits from Paddocks. Very helpful lady on the phone provided details of the bits.
