is this since fitting or on 1st install? If later it would be worth a recheck wiring.

The motor has been no problem at all on that winch and I doubt it has much wear as it hasn't seen any heavy use either.

The 9.5 motor could be fitted and a call to David Bowyer would give you superwinch and TDS options.

hi mate

have been very pleased with the winch thanks, had it fitted a month or so and done some light stuff with it.

no its since fitting that its stopped working. theres power getting to the leads but the motors not m oving. when you try and power in or out with it sat in the winch bumper the casing or earth lead becomes live and it sparks.

ive double checked all the electrics.

guess ill give dave a call

mmmmmm sounds like something is shorting then. Normally these motors are pretty robust. You do have to be careful about switching direction in use as they won't take it and it invariably ends in a knackered motor.

Quite a few motor failures can be repaired though, so if you are in no rush you could look at getting it repaired.
