Lars L
I have found that the throttle position sensor on my Disco has died a peaceful death. When checking the various suspects for parts, I see that there is a wide span of prices with a domestic (Sweden) parts seller being the most expensive and Paddock being the cheapest at £41 +VAT. I haven't checked Genuine as proper Land Rover dealers are few and far apart. Question is - how poor can the quality actually be, it's just an adjustable resistor? Anybody bought one from them? Results?
FridgeFreezer
You could always find a good 2nd hand one, I'd imagine there's a few on eBay. You may also be able to stick something more universally available on, throttle position sensors do have some commonality and as you say ultimately it's only a potentiometer, suitable industrial ones are available from RS Components and the like.
