Munster
Years ago I used to go laning every saturday night with a great bunch of guys. We used to meet up at about 8pm near midhurst or petworth discuss the route for that night then go out and get muddy. All above board and very well organised. Since those days I've kinda lost touch with those guys and am looking to see if anyone else does that sort of thing in the Chichester/Midhurst/Petworth areas, there is me and a couple of other cars that want to play, all experienced, all responsible, all willing to get muddy and have a good laugh (thats what its all about right!!) Let me know !! Cheers Munst
Guest WALFY
The days of going 'laning' to get get muddy are long gone. If a lane gets you that dirty you have to ask yourself if you should be driving it in the first place. I'm sure there are a few on here that would take you laning and show you the modern way and still have fun.
Munster
Thats a shame, half the fun was watching people get winched out of holes at 3 in the morning in the middle of nowhere!! I'm not that worried about getting my landy stuck in a big muddy wet hole anymore, just a bit of a challenge and getting out and about will do, I found going out at night more fun too! DrRob
Most West Sussex lanes are now restricted byways = shut to vehicles. Lots still open in Hants though but keeping them to myself JOKE. OS Maps and County Council online rights of way pages are the place to start. Or join a local club - better.
