Any recommendations for a company to carry out a top end overhaul on my 200Tdi? Looking for a reputable and experienced place to remove head, check, overhaul and replace. Proactive maintenance as coming up to 140K miles. I believe Elring composite head gasket is the way forwards. Any experience of just buying a recon head from Turners as a short cut? Any tips on fitting them? Long story but front one was missing and it's peed oil out over front of engine. Do I fit the new one in with sealant? If yes, what type? Same question for rocker cover gasket.... TIA Rob

Casting is a little rough which is not good for Airtex. Reseated hose with new clip and I think it's worked. Time will tell.....

Could be I guess but would expect better from Airtex. Will have a look....

New bottom hose, new jubille clip, new water pump (Airtex). Why is there now a small weep from the hose/pump interface? (above the jubilee clip) Have moved the hose and clip a bit but still weeps - when cold and hoses squeezed. Weird. Will try a new clip and move the hose down the pump cating a bit and clamp just behind the ferruled casting. After that, will try a new hose....current one might be faulty.... Anyobdy had this before?

Yep, going to try myself and do it....going to invest in some flat sided sockets.... Looks like adjuster is a type of Allen key...can't remember the exact name...

Thanks Dave! Off to Keith Gott's to get a new seal kit it is! What should I use to re-seal the cover? RV Silicone gasket sealant? How easy to adjust the box? Is that in Haynes lies book? A written guide on here would be gratefully received. Ta Rob
