jake123
Can anyone help as I'm at my wit's end! The air has gone from '93 Classic's suspension. It's on it's bump stops and there's no sign of the compressor firing up when I start the car. I've followed other advice I've found on here and 'shorted' the compressor which runs but makes no difference. I have also tried bypassing the pumps to get the car to the right height but it doesn't move. What should I do?
Jon White
If the reservoir is empty, and especially if the compressor is a bit tired, it can take 5-10 minutes running to fully pump the reservoir up to pressure. Have you checked you're letting it run for long enough? Have you got any warning lights showing? Have you also checked that the inhibit switch under the drivers seat hasnt accidentally been switched? Jon Hi Jon Thanks for the reply. I let the compressor run for about 5 ins but was worried about draining the battery. The 'up' & 'down' buttons flash for a few seconds then stay on. They've done this for the past week but the car always went to the correct height. Now it's just 'sat down' and refuses to move. I haven't touched the inhibitor switch but I'll look. What does it look like? And is there anything else I should try?
Jon White
If the warning lights are staying on then its gone into hard fault mode and will not re-set without a reset via the daignostics. Its either a trip to your local independant specialists, or you can do it your self if you're confident with a laptop and a soldering iron. Search on google for EAS unlocker and you can do it yourself. However if you're not confident with what you're doing I'd suggest paying someone to sort it for you. steve_d
If you amend your profile with a location then there may be someone local with both laptop and knowledge who can help you. Steve
