macandrc
i am needing to replace my seat box in my 1986 90 and have found ones from later 300tdi and td5 models which are in mint condition, but they obviously have different openings for the tunnel. has anyone modified one to fit? colin

The tunnel openings are spot welded on the new 300Tdi tunnel I have, so I'm gonna drill out the spot welds, split the opening off, and swap the tunnel opening plate from the old seatbox, the only bit that's not buggered with ally corrosion . I've got some wide flanged head rivets, so I hope that'll do the trick. It looks pretty easy to make the tunnel plate - seatbox join at least as strong as LR make it. mike4444244
Hi Not exactly the same but I fitted a TD5 one to my 200, I just cut the piece with the tunnel off my old one and sikkaflex and rivetted it in place over the hole in the new one, then I just reused all my original tunnel pieces Mike
