Tractorboy16 Posted February 3, 2009 Share Posted February 3, 2009 hi, sorting out wiring of my 8274, have the standard motor fitted at the moment and won't be changing for a few months or so so was wondering, would i be able to weld a bolt to the motor casing to act as an earth, underneath the other motor away from the A F1 and F2 connectors? or is it best to earth off the mounting bolt? ciderman Posted February 3, 2009 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Personaly I wouldnt put a welder anywhere near the motor body for fear of de-magnitisation or summat like that, I take it there isnt an earthing point on the lower point of the body , If not then a mounting bolt would be the next choice . James Welded a 10mm bolt to the casing as you are suggesting, worked perfectly well. But the motor wont get the most out of your winch though, 2.5Hp power output aint that good.
