Cat_J Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 Before I replace the air filter I'd like to know how much oil is supposed to come up out of then breather back into the air intake. I'm assuming little to none but there is a bit more than I'm hope for but not a ridiculous mount. Would it be because the mesh inside is blocked. Can the mesh just be replaced or do I need to replace the whole thing? I notice Allisport do one but it doesn't seem worth it for £80. Cheers. tonka Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 i just cleaned mine with white spirit. took a while to run it through the pipes and get it as clean as possible. then left it to dry for a few days. seems to have stoped the problem. I shall have a go at that, possibly with some petrol as thats what i usually use to remove oil related things. Got some driveway gunk too so I could just shove everything through it. tonka Posted February 16, 2009 Share Posted February 16, 2009 i just pulled off the whole unit. pipes as well. the breather its self didnt seem to obvious how it came apart so i submerged it in the spirit and ran some through the pipes. like i said it worked for me but i would imagine there is a better way of doing it.
