benbenukuk
Hi, I'm getting my cage fitted to my 90 this week and would like to know where to get the paint from? I would like to paint it yellow, Also will I need to use a primer first and if so which one? cheers. Ben
rallycinq
Have you considered powder coating? Cheers SPD
Bowie69
Yellow Hammerite smooth would do, surely? Either that or farmers machinery suppliers (or Mole Valley does as well IIRC) will almost certainly have 'John Deere Yellow' or 'JCB Yellow' which is cheap as chips and hard as nails
rallycinq
Smooth Hammerite is quite brittle and chips badly, will still need a primer to be done properly. Tractor paint would be a good idea, although a primer will still be needed. I'd still powdercoat, did my cage in two colours, red and yellow. benbenukuk
Not to sure but i think it's a weld on one and once it's on it stays on so prob won't be able to powder coat, Didn't think of paint for tractors which primer would you recomend? cheers. Bowie69
Primer : *CLICKY* Top coat : *CLICKY* Have no affiliation to the seller(you can probably get it just as cheap by saving on postage and going to a local supplier TBH), but that's the sort of thing you could use. Tris Cocks
My advise would be against powdercoating, this is becasue if it gets scratched and water manages to get inbetween the powedercoating and the cage then it will peel and flake of quite easily. JST
dont powder coat it as any tree rubbing etc and it will crack off with time then you will be stuck! Mole Valley farmers or equivalent tractor paint with appropriate primer worked very well on mine and cheap too
