mel
Hi, A long(ish) story but i want to put a 200tdi eng complete with g/box and trans box into a 300tdi Disco. What probs am i likely to encounter, and i'm sure they'll be some ? The 300 was used as a doner car so eng gone but have still got the R380 g/box baltho rather than messing about fitting it to the 200 eng, if indeed it would, i'm just removing it and fitting the whole of the 200 stuff, eng, box, X box comp Thank's, Mark

bango690
wouldnt the engine mounts be different? as the 300 mounts sit at 90 deg's to the chassis whereas the 200 mounts sit at an angle?
JJ7893
Yes the chassis rails mounting are diffrent. If you got the 2 cars together and you can hold a welder or get hold of a welding person why not just swop the mounts over? cant be much more that half days work? ......JJ
bango690
The 300 was used as a doner car so eng gone but have still got the R380 g/box baltho rather than messing about fitting it to the 200 eng, wouldnt it be eaiser to fit the r380 to the 200 if the box is already in? i know that the 200 flywheel cover fits the 300 sureley its just a case of fitting the 300 flywheel case to the 200? then they sould both mate up does the 200 x-fer box have a cable driven speedo or a lecci one like the 300?
