Strega Posted March 23, 2009 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Hi guys, as the title suggests I need a rough guess on the price of changing a head gasket on a 300tdi disco if anyone has had this done recently, and any recommendations as to where to get it done around the south-east area? This is on behalf of a mate who has just spent 2 years converting his disco for some serious off road fun only for the head gasket to go on it's first trip out!!!! Needless to say he is gutted! rocky Posted March 23, 2009 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Hello mate, do it yourself, approx 7 hours to remove and replace + getting the head pressure tested and maybe skimmed. The local landrover garage quoted me £600 + vat, in the end it cost me £90 to get the head tested and skimmed, + gaskets and oils.
