v84x4 Posted April 22, 2009 Share Posted April 22, 2009 hi so i've been driving my disco around abit seem's to run ok but not very smooth ,so i have a rumage under the bonnet i check the vac advance by sucking on the pipe abit it seems blocked ,following the pipe back i find a non return valve,turned it round and all seems well have i done right? steve_d Posted April 23, 2009 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Not sure but I think they are an anti backfire valve which is supposed to protect the diaphragm. Took mine out and binned it years ago. In order for the vac advance system to work air/vacuum has to move both ways so if it's blocked one way then the system can't work.
