chrism
Hi guys I have seen a stand at the shows which sells odd bits of ally, nylon etc etc but cant remember their name. I had a card but lost it and i think they had a website. Could someone point me in the right direction please Im after a few lumps of ally and nylon and i presume this is the cheapest way of going about it maybe. Any cheaper suggestions would be appreciated! Its difficult though as i dont know precisely what i want just yet! Thanks Chris

Chris, I have found 2 useful routes for steel. best is going round to a local forge/blacksmithing company who might sell you some bits if they have any. The other is going round to a steel stockholder on a Saturday and asking to rummage the offcuts bin. A beer voucher always helps. Think you need to find someone who works in a dockyard for that one. Steve
simonr
Find a steel stock-holder and see if they have a bar-end (off-cut). We have one locally http://www.metalex.co.uk/ who are very good when it comes to off-cuts! Although their site says they are a non-ferrous supplier - they seem to have a fair bit of steel most of the time. Si
