DLK
Hi folks, Im new to this forum and to 4x4's so help needed. I have a 1997 2.5 tdi in green in nice condition. Im a gundog trainer and this is a great tool to have on my side. Problem, fuel leak, there is fuel P***ing out of it, I need a new part im sure. All pipes are tight it looks to be coming out of the crimped area. It looks easy to take off. Can anyone tell me if it is and how to do it. Also how best to bleed it once its done. If im right its the primer where ther eis a little brass looking lever you can move up and down. Sorry for sounding dull I just dont want to make a hash of it. I would rather take it in to get it done. Cheers, DLK
western
called the fuel lift pump & looks like this, only fix is a new pump. to blled after the new pump is fitted, just turn the engine over on the starter & it should fire & run, maybe a nit lumpy for a minute or 2 but will soon settle down to a good regular idle speed. BogMonster
Can you post a photo of the engine bay showing the filter, lift pump and pipes, I think I know what the problem is but need to see it to be sure

This does look like it but mine looks like a sealed unit no screws. I have a quote of £17 i guess thats good
BogMonster
The reason it broke is to do with the fuel pipe arrangement - post a pic of the engine bay so I can see what's fitted and I'll tell you if that is the case
