geoffbeaumont
Hi! Has anyone converted their P38 with a 300Tdi engine? Any comments? ThanksAlex Why? I don't think the BMW straight six TDIs are hard to get hold of? It would certainly lose a good deal of 'go' at higher cruising speeds and be generally slower and noisier - plus I'd be surprised if you don't have trouble persuading all the electrics to work without a standard engine to talk to (though I'm sure it can be done if you're determined enough). They're in P38's, Vauxhall Omegas and BMW's, not exactly hard to get hold of and not a bad engine by all accounts. If you've got 5k to spend on an engine you could have 4x the power and probably still a fair bit of change.
