still thinking but the best I have so far is to get some garden wire, measure resistance of 10 m. Then as you seem to be aware of ohms law, make up a load that you put across a set of battey jump leads. You may want to loosely coil the wire in a bucket of water as the resistence increases with temperature. At the very least, you';d be able to make a cuppa at the end of the test!

What about all the electrics on you've got: heater blower, lights etc

Then connect a set off jump leads to another car with it's ignition on (not running) and the heated rear screen, lights etc as well......

That way the alternator is running 2 cars. That'll load it up a bit :blink:
