Its a drum type, which i assume is the standard style used on defenders. Its pretty damn mucky so im hoping it might help to improve my lacking mpg! mike4444244 Posted June 14, 2009 Share Posted June 14, 2009 Hi They have instructions on the website, however most people on here (me included) would advise you to put it in the bin and fit a new OEM paper one, your engine will thank you! pat_pending Posted June 14, 2009 Share Posted June 14, 2009 Clean it off with water soluable de-greaser like Jizer or Gunk, then wash it through with water from the inside out. Allow to dry, re-oil with ATF or similar. Yes, the concensus is they're carp, though i never had problems with them on bikes, so I'm on the fence a bit on this.
