paintman Posted June 16, 2009 Share Posted June 16, 2009 They are the normal plastic covered steel straps & are used for most cylindrical tank mountings, both inside & outside the vehicle. Problem with them is that water gets into the straps & they quietly rust away until all thats left is the plastic coating! Try & find a supplier that will sell you stainless strapping - or make them up yourself http://www.lro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3...305d9b6acd4fe32 If you have a tame sheet metal workers near you you might be able to get them as offcuts. Anyone that has these plastic covered ones on underslungs would be well advised to check them ASAP & would be best regarding them as a service item which need inspection & periodic replacement.
