Adi
hey all Rebuilding a 2 1/2 Diesel....i am confused in what order to connect the fuel system...ie.. fuel tank->filter->mechanical lift pump->injector pump or is it fuel tank->mech. lift pump->filter->injector pump Also whats the exact procedure for priming the fuel system? Thanks cheers
Les Henson
Tank to lift pump. Lift pump to filter. Filter to Inj pump. Return from inj pump to filter. Spill rail to either filter or back to tank. Prime to bleed on the filter, then bleed to inj pump. Bleed each injector in turn, then crank the engine until it starts. Les.

Thanks les ....correct me if am wrong... wont the little debris in the tank screw up the diaphragm inside the lift pump, if the pump sucks diesel directly from tank, when the filter is fitted after the lift pump?? As Les said, it won't. The pick-up pipes in the tanks have gauze stariners on them to keep any significant sediment or FOD out of the lines.
