tychoS
How do you replace one of the studs holding the timing belt tensioner in place on a 2,5 TD? It broke in half when I was in the process of changing the timing belt. The stud was in a sorry state to begin with, having lost most of the thread on the part the nut sat on. Therefore I refit a new nut with some washers in between so the nut rode on a non-damaged part of the stud. However the stud broke when I torqued it. western
if there's enough stud length remaining, you could grip & turn it with a stud extractor like these or a pair of molegrips. new studes are LR part TE108061L x 2 for your engine.
