need4speed
Im in the process of retrofitting an RV8/R380 combo into a TD5 chassis. However the bulkhead that i have is originally from a 200TDi. What, if anything, will i have to do to the bulkhead in order for everything to fit together without, how shall we say..... 'foulage'... landroversforever
is the gearbox a long or short one? IE is it a standard defender R380?
need4speed
I think it is standard though im not 100%. How do i check? Going by Ashcroft Transmissions method of identifying the box, its type 56A if that means anything?
landroversforever
if it is a standard R380, then i think that the bulkhead won't need trimming. Best bet would be to get the tape measure out... measure from transferbox mounting face to the closest part of the engine... or a test fit!
