silversurfer
Could anyone please tell me how you turn the blower motors fully off on a P38. If I turn the knob all the way to the left the lowest it will go is setting No1 which means they are still on. I know I must be missing something? Thanks. andyjim
Hi, I suspect there may be a fault on the switch as mine turns the blower off completely when I turn the switch all the way to the left. Or it could just be a dirty contact. Is the book symbol lit on the heater display? Sorry I can't be of more help.
David Sparkes
There is no specific 'Off' switch for the blowers, only the rotary control, any output of which is controlled by the HEVAC ECU, of which the control switches + display are part. If you really want the blowers totally disconnected, look for the appropriate relays or fuses in the engine bay fuse box. There is a pictogram inside the fuse box lid to help. I cannot recall if mine can be switched off via the rotary switch; it's not something I'd bother with, but I recognise you are handling some other A/C fault at the same time. Again, The ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) that comes as part of a RAVE CD is invaluable. There are words describing the circuit operation, as well as wiring diagrams, etc. HTH
