p38rr
If its the BMW engine then they are great in BMW`s but in a Range Rover, not so good!!! I would say with over 100000 miles on it, be very careful.
sheltie50
Be very careful if this engine has done 100.000+ its good in a car but overstressed in the range rover especially in the manual, but the engine is only a very small part of the P38 and you need to be sure of every part, in a P38 over 100,000 there will be problems waiting for you. andyjim
I have a diesel P38 with 143000 on the clock. It has been serviced by the book at main dealers and it never misses a beat. I have had it chipped and it now has the power it should have had from the start, it is also doing 25mpg around town. In a nutshell, get one that has been looked after and carry on pampering it.
