simes Posted October 22, 2009 Share Posted October 22, 2009 I have recently replaced the engine in my 300tdi after a disaster on holiday. I got the engine at a good price so can`t complain, but after starting the oil light stays on for up to 18 seconds. If i start it after a short time it goes off immediatly but after a couple of hours low oil pressure again. I have changed the sender unit so its not that. BogMonster Posted October 22, 2009 Share Posted October 22, 2009 Doesn't sound right, which is odd as 300tdis don't have oil pressure problems. Sounds like maybe the pump is having difficulty in priming. May be worth dropping the sump and checking the oil pickup has an O ring sealing it - this doesn't help if it is missing Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
