EFI Inline Fuel Filter connection fitting size

Does any body know what the actual thread size is on the inlet and outlet of the EFI Inline Fuel Filter (ESR4065). I am having to replace the fuel lines and pump as I can not undo any of the fittings. I have bought a 10mtr coil of 8mm micro bore copper pipe (£9.29) & half a dozen 8mm brass straight compression couplings (£0.49each) a massive saving over any other way of doing it.

The Fuel Filter outlet & inlet is bigger than a 8mm fitting probably a 10mm or 3/8 BSP, I need a fitting from the filter that reduces down to 8mm so that I can connect the copper pipe directly into the inlet and outlet. I do not have the option of re-using the original fittings as they are still embedded in the old filter.

Do you know what size spanner it takes or would this help?

I could go outside and find out what spanner size is required??

The only spanner I have that fits is an old 5/16W one which measures 15mm over the flats. I am not sure this is any help, it might be if I had a box full of fittings. The point is that I do not know if the thread is a BSP taper or parralel or NTPF, I need to know this before I can order the new fittings.

There has been quite a few examples of people replacing fuel lines with copper microbore but non mentions connecting to the fuel filter.All that I can think is the old connections to filter were ok so all they did was cut the metal pipes off and push the new copper ones in and fit a jubilee clip.

Not sure if it's still available but when LR first changed from the filter with incorporated hose ends to the later screw fitting types they also produced a conversion kit. This kit included 2 short hoses with the connectors swaged onto them as well as a new filter. It was only a couple of quid more than a filter at the time. It might be part number STC1677 as that is described as an assembly.

it is still available, the average price is over £60, but I found two sites where it is only £12. I will have one last go in the morning to try and unscrew the original hose from the filter.It would be easy to identify the thread when it is split from the filter.My original thinking was not to have any rubber hose connections and just have compression fittings, but it looks like I will have to change my thinking on this.
