kkk2
What is there a difference between the standard slave cylinder 591231G, the 300tdi slave cylinder FTC 5205 and the V8 one FTC 5071 please? is there a difference in the throw of the cylinders? thanks K
Phil Hancock
The 591231G will be 3/8" & 7/16"UNF threaded ports, the 300Tdi will be M10? & M12 & the V8 is IIRC a larger bore and possibly metric ports as well.
kkk2
Thanks for that if the v8 slave cylinder has a bigger bore does that mean it moves less than the standard diesel one? seeing as the master cylinder is the same on all models? Jon White
Kev, If its larger diameter it will move less than a smaller diameter one, yes. However it will require less pedal effort to get it to move. HTH Jon
kkk2
Hi Jon, good to hear from you, I have a bit of a hybrid, the engine is 4.2 tdi running a V8 clutch and pressure plate with a custom bellhousing with a lt77 gearbox. I think the setup is using a standard diesel slave cylinder, but the clutch can have its moments, I was hoping to fit a v8 slave as I thought it might work better with the pressure plate but as you say it will not as it has a shorter stroke so..............any suggestions???? Phil Hancock
Remote servo = less effort on pedal & same stroke at slave.
