Hi all,

Thought I'd introduce myself and land rover(s). Im Brian, 17 and just finishing off the 18 month rebuild of my series 3 88 bought as a bent, rotten, non running shed for £100. I started off quickly but was held up by money because in order to get parts to progress i had to work in all my free time but this also meant no time on the build but im finally getting there :) . The vague spec is: galv chassis, parabolics, 200'di' (just getting parts together for Tdi), 3.51 diffs and a converted Td5 bulkhead... obviously that's just the big stuff - Now its just a case of sorting a few little bits, tidying things and some sound proofing seems an idea too. To finish the series I think I'll try and get hold of some wolf or 1 ton rims with some 7.50s or 235s because the 205s look a little lost after the lift of the paras.

I also bought my dads '86 90 for the next project because i don't want to take the series 3 much further in fear of just building a replica defender. The whole running gear on the 90 is pooped so I'm going to semi strip the 90 down, fit 24 spline disco axles, rebuilt LT77/LT230 and either a 200 or 300tdi(still deciding), fit a mild lift (springs and shocks need replacing anyway), give the chassis, bulkhead and steering a once over then just paint a few things and generally tidy up the mess the PO masked with the nice paint job. I haven't properly started on the 90 yet but just through swapping parts have ended up with a nice set of 33's, truck cab and roll hoop :D .

I'm on another forum (some of you may know) but the technical knowledge here seems much better so here I am  .

Cheers, Brian
