Aragorn
While procrastinating here at work i'm trying to find out some info on the TD5 speedo transducer. Does anyone know what kinda output it gives? I.E. 8 pulses per revolution, 0v reference point with 12v spikes? How does it compare to the Disco 300TDi/TD5 sender? dailysleaze
This is from Rave: The speed transducer (C0195) provides a square wave, pulsed speed signal to the instrument pack (C1060) on a BR wire. The instrument pack uses this signal to drive the speedometer. The speedometer also doubles the frequency of pulses (from 4100 per mile to 8200 per mile) and provides an output to the ECM (C0658 – Td5 vehicles only) and the overspeed ECU (C1311 – Gulf specification vehicles only) on YK wires. It might help.
Aragorn
Oooh thats perfect. The Audi ECU as standard appears to run on a signal of around 6500pulses per mile, so looking at that, hopefully if i simply take the output to the ECM and feed it into the Audi ECU it will work, albeit with a 20% overspeed, hopefully the ECU wont mind too much.
