what colour blue paint???

hi everybody

i need to pick up some paint tomorrow and was hoping to get the right colour first time.

just need a bit of help from the collective though.

if any one has this months issue of Land rover owner international ( april, issue 4 2010) could you please tell me what type of blue the defender is on page 212

this is what mine is and i need to get some of that paint, preferably before the weekend.

Looks like Marine Blue to me.

Paint codes are JCC Marine Blue 1959-1987 LRC.006

or could be

Stratos Blue JCP Stratos Blue, Tasmin Blue 82-87 LRC.327

both use upto 1987, changed in '88

Shire Blue JUG Shire Blue 88-89 LRC.392

so depends on what year your truck is.

its 1984 so will have to try the marine blue

get a touch up can & try it next to a area of interoir where the sunlight hasn't bleached the paint, then you should be able to tell if Marine blue is correct & a good match

any idea if the usual places near helston hold this ready use, to pick up on a saturday, or is it a mail order item. (i tried cornwall farmers the other day and they stock "land rover blue" but it doent look the right colour)
