Francis
Well. My discovery brakes are causing nightmares. We have had the pads out, lubed the caliper pistons. As I drive along, it's like they are pressurizing but by bit, until the pedal is totally stiff with zero travel. Both side on the front get hot, and lock up. It's a 1993 Discovery. Anyone got any ideas?
wizard
Sounds like the servo is shot. I had a similar experiance with mine. Replaced the brake servo and all was hunky dory. wizard
FridgeFreezer
Try adjusting the pedal travel, I've seen this before (in fact I've had this before) when I bolted a Defender master cylinder to my Series I spaced them too closely so the pedal was never fully releasing the brakes. In my case, spacing the servo/master back from the pedal by a few extra mm solved it, I'm not sure if/where there's any adjustment on normal trucks. Sometimes the actuating rod has an adjustable end. I found you need to adjust things so the pedal has a little free play at the top of its travel to guarantee it's releasing the brakes fully. Francis
Thanks. I am going to take a look at it today. I will let you know what the outcome is!
