Hi All

I have just noticed that there is a book symbol with an exclamation mark in the display for the heater control.

Any ideas as to what this may be and what the fix is.Range Rover p38 4.6 HSE.

Cheers RB

I was going to say "your heater wants to read a book ;) " but normally it means "non-critical fault, consult the owner's manual for further information".

Hi All

... book symbol with an exclamation mark in the display for the heater control. ...

Get yourself an Owners Handbook, and read it. This is part of the RAVE CD, downloadable for free from the Green Oval site.

The RAVE CD also contains the Workshop and Electrical manuals.

The symbol means 'consult your Dealer', and is frequently referred to as a Cheque Book symbol, for reasons that will become obvious.

The three most likely defects are :

Low on AC gas,

One or more blend motor faulty,

Blend or distribution flaps stuck.

These are not in order of likelihood, you need to do a functional test to get a better indication.

Functional Test.

Thanks for quick replies

I have got a handbook and have looked at it!but all it say's is consult your dealer.I will have a look at it myself but was just wondering if i manage to repair it myself by having the system re-gassed etc, will the symbol disappear of it's own accord or does it need to be re-set.

Thanks RB
