LandyLee
Does anyone know what electric fan fits best on a 200 tdi defender - I was hoping to be able to get either a single or double unit to fit off a car but was sure someone has done this before. I read somewhere that a mk 3 mondeo fan system fits quite easily ??? Anyway I was hoping to save myself some time and trips to the scrappie. mike4444244
Hi Mine is a xm or xantia fan IIRC, you can pretty much fit the biggest that fits (take tape measure to scrappy) its dead easy to make up mounts due to the steel frame. shanghai1979
I fitted the X-ENG sensor to mine and found a ford mondeo fan. But honestly it's an utter waste of time. The viscus hub is very reliable and you can botch it easier than an electric fan. I left my X-Eng sensor in place but went back to the viscous fan in the end. Ex Member
The viscus hub is very reliable... Really? Every single one I've ever come across (on a Defender) does not work. A proper electric fan installation needs to be done well. When done to an OE level, it should as reliable as a viscous setup.
