boaterboy
Thanks to you all for most useful info. I was pleased to find no sign of corrosion on the pipe running along the inside of the front wing. Had system re-gassed at local garage, they had already done 8 that day, £40 + vat, and system blowing beautifully cool air now. Garage mechanic told me that if the pressure in the system drops the 'pump' (may be the compressor?) will not start. On lifting the bonnet he could not hear the 'pump' running and immediately indicated a regas being necessary - in hind sight I suppose it could have been an electrical fault? He also said that there was some pressure in the system, as opposed to none, which indicated that there may not be a leak in the system. Anyway, only time will tell, meanwhile I'll enjoy the cool cabin and should the temperature rise again will get dye put into the system, as was suggested, in order to find the leak. elmscroft
Hi, ATS £39 for re-gas. Takes about an hour. Our 2001 had not had aircon touched, and was about half full. We were reccommended ATS. They took readings before and after, giving a printout. Final reading was 4 degrees. Mike
