siearl
Hi all, I have a 98 3dr 1.8 petrol freelander. Recently i had a need to use my spare keys and remote, the remote wouldnt work so i changed the battery and still nothing, is there something i should be doing and not or does it look like i am going to have to get it programmed at specialist. Cheers Si
FreebieFreddy
If the remote worked in the past on your vehicle ..... (with a new battery) it should work now. It doesn't need re-programming because you haven't used it for a while. Another problem is ...... the switches tend to come away from the circuit board. Open the remote and check the 4 'legs' of the switch are soldered down. edit: also check the length of the switch (the plastic bit that the rubber cover presses down, I have known these to break. dubtike
keep pressing the lock/unlock buttons a few times while standing close to the drivers door and front wing. when the battery is changed, it needs to reset itself to the system
