sirtiffy Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Have purchased the centre part of a new Detroit Locker for our Salisbury . Comes with warning lable abour shimming. Lars L Posted June 13, 2010 Share Posted June 13, 2010 You'll need a workshop manual for the Salisbury. The diff bearings need to be shimmed to get the backlash and bearing preload right. sean f Posted June 13, 2010 Share Posted June 13, 2010 Just a though but the Salibury axle is basically the same as a Dana 60 axle. From your side of the pond it might be easier to get instructions for the Dana60 than a LR Salibury. Subject to some one telling me I am totally wrong I don't expect the diff set up will be much different, the procedure should be the same at least.
