discovery 1 rear door/tail gate

just a silly question about the rear door/tail gate for a discovery 1

i'm looking to replace my rear door/tail gate,

i was told yeasterday there are 2 types...??????

can any one shed any lite on this??

i have a l reg 300tdi been told this was the swop over year.

are there any diferences in the 200 tdi & 300 tdi rear doors/tail gates.

if so what they are?

That is the first I have heard of there being 2 different types of door. They may be confusing the 2 types with the ones with the brake lights in the window and the ones without or the ones with the speakers and pocket. But I don't think the door itself is any different on a 200 or a 300.

I could be wrong though...

hey there mate there is no difference wat so ever between the 200tdi and 300 tdi rear door its only the door cards that different the rear door didnt change till disco2 came out HTH

thanks for your opinions, i didn't think they changer the back doors.

but as i said yesterday i was looking for a few bits and bobs and the one breakers yard,

came out with this the doors were diferent

if any one else has any comments or if any one has changed a door even better....

as my brither and i were under the impereion they were the same. it doesnt help when we both have L ref disco 300tdi's

I think the 200tdi has a tail light fitted in the door, such that when the door is fully open - blocking the main tail light on the D pillar, there is a substitute.

The 300tdi has the tail lights on the bumper too, negating the need for this one.

The Disco 2 definately has a different boot door to a 300TDi (1996). The Door latch is approx 2 inches higher (so you can't even shut the door!).

I have just fitted a door from a V8 petrol (N reg), to my 300TDI P reg. Perfect fit.

As for L reg Discos - sorry can't help with that...
